IATA AGM to be Hosted by Indigo in Delhi from 8-10 June 2025

Civil Aviation Minister Jotiraditya Scindia described IATA’s decision to hold its next AGM in Delhi as a “proud moment for Indian aviation.”

IndiGo will host the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) annual general meeting (AGM) from June 8-10, 2025, in Delhi. India last hosted the IATA AGM, a major global aviation event, over four decades ago in 1983 and prior to that in 1958.

“With record aircraft orders, strong growth, and world-class infrastructure investments, India is on track to become the world’s third-largest aviation market within a decade. With such promising potential, it’s the ideal time for the IATA AGM to return to India and experience these exciting advancements firsthand,” said Willie Walsh, IATA’s Director General.

IndiGo’s CEO Pieter Elbers succeeded RwandAir CEO Yvonne Manzi Makolo as chair of IATA’s board of governors at the 80th Annual General Meeting of the 330-strong association in Dubai, which wrapped on Monday. Elbers’s one-year term will conclude with the 81st IATA AGM in Delhi next year.

“IndiGo is proud to be the host airline for the 81st IATA AGM and looks forward to welcoming the global aviation community to Delhi in 2025. India, set to become the third-largest economy within the next few years and leading the fourth industrial revolution with the use of AI, is a nation on the move. India’s rise in the global aviation landscape over the last few years has been nothing short of remarkable,” said the IndiGo CEO.

Civil Aviation Minister Jotiraditya Scindia emphasized the significance of hosting the IATA AGM in Delhi, highlighting the sector’s growth under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership. “The sector has seen tremendous growth with record passenger counts, world-class infrastructure development, enhanced regional connectivity, and historic aircraft orders. This event will provide national and international stakeholders a platform to further explore the Indian aviation market and open new avenues for collaboration and sustainability,” Scindia said in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
