Rajasthan Pravasi Foundation Hosting a Grand Cultural Event in Alliance with The Cultural Committee of the I.H.A, JNU on Rajasthan Foundation Day

New Delhi, India – 5th April 2025 –

On the occasion of Rajasthan Foundation Day, the Rajasthan Pravasi Foundation, in collaboration with the Cultural Committee of the I.H.A, JNU (Delhi), hosted a grand “Rajasthan Cultural Event” on April 2, 2025, at 4:30 PM at Auditorium 1, Convention Centre, JNU (Delhi).

The event was graced by illustrious dignitaries, including:

  • Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism
  • Shanti Kumari Dhulipudi Pandit, Vice-Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)
  • Jogeshwar Garg, Cabinet Minister, Government of Rajasthan
  • Mahant Shri Pratap Puri Maharaj, Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Spiritual Guru, Mathadheesh – Taratara Math, Barmer
  • Rajveer Singh Ji, Renowned Historian and Speaker

Addressing the function, the Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “JNU is the most prestigious university of this country. It is a matter of happiness for us that the number of students from Rajasthan is increasing continuously here. Intellectual students of JNU should come forward and lead this country socially, culturally and politically. Participation of Rajasthani student community of JNU is necessary in the development of the country. The 500-year-old eclipse from the country has now been removed and the country is moving towards becoming a golden bird under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.”

Addressing the function, Pokaran MLA Mahant Pratappuri said, “The land of JNU is ready to adopt the religious flag of Sanatan culture. Just like Lord Ram spent fourteen years in exile, similarly JNU will also end its exile as a result of BJP’s good governance and will engage in national service.”

Rajveer Singh said in the function, “Rajasthani language is a symbol of rich folk heritage and culture, it is shameful for us that it is not getting recognition. Through quotes from history, he spoke in detail about the grammar and dictionary of Rajasthani language. Told. On the subject of insult of Maharana Sanga, he said that insulting the warriors of Rajasthan in the country’s largest panchayat is an insult to the whole country.” During this, Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Chief Whip of Rajasthan Assembly Jogeshwar Garg, Pokaran MLA Pratap Puri, Dean of Students Manuradha Chaudhary, Founder of Rajasthan Pravasi Foundation Gyan Singh Pilwa, Haldiram Family Director Umesh Agarwal, Lal Singh Rathore from Rajasthan Tourism Department and other intellectuals were present.

This great festival was designed to honour the cultural splendor of Rajasthan’s cultural heritage in terms of its dance, music, and mythology. The Rajasthan Pravasi Foundation is pledged to promote the living tradition of Rajasthan.

The festival featured enchanting performances and incisive enlightening events, and Rajasthan’s cultural and historical heritage. There was ample scope for the audience to watch the grandeur of Rajasthani art, folk culture, and its permanent legacy.

Talking about the event, a representative of the Rajasthan Pravasi Foundation said, “This cultural evening was not just a celebration, but a bridge connecting Rajasthan’s deep-rooted traditions with the world. It was an honor to bring together distinguished personalities and the vibrant Rajasthani community for this special occasion.”

The event featured generous participation of three exceptional artists who have significantly influenced Indian folk music. Shri. Seema Mishra Ji, a renowned folk Singer with a beautiful voice, presented her performance steeped in the traditions of Rajasthani culture. Likewise, Sadiq Khan Misari Ji, an extraordinary Manganiyar folk musician, has demonstrated his fine artistry with his traditional instruments and the music of the Thar Desert tradition.

Lastly, the people cherished the performance of Shri. Ramu Master, a familiar figure for his quality singing and authoritative connections to the roots of Indian folk music. Their presence and performances uplifted the spirit of the occasion, making it a truly unforgettable cultural celebration. The event left people, including students and dignitaries, overwhelmed by the Rajasthani culture. It was a rare meeting of minds and traditions.
